A wedding guest book people actually fill in

The guest book is the most reliably disappointing object at a wedding. It sits on a table near the entrance, it collects about a third of the signatures it was bought for, and most of those say “congratulations” and a name. Meanwhile every guest in the room is holding a phone full of photos of your day that you will never see.

What changes when the book becomes a QR code

An Event Wall is a printed sign with a QR code on it. A guest points their camera at it, and a page opens where they can leave a photo, a short video, or a written message. No app, no account, no queue at a table — they can do it from their seat between courses, and most do.

The difference in what you get back is not subtle. A guest book gives you signatures. A wall gives you the ceremony from four angles you were not standing at, the speech your uncle recorded from his table, and the messages people write when they are not standing over a book with someone waiting behind them.

Where to put the sign

One sign at the entrance is the minimum, but it is not where the submissions come from. The two placements that actually work are the tables and the bar — anywhere people are sitting or waiting with a phone already in their hand.

If you are printing table numbers, put the code on the back of each one. Guests who would never walk to a table to sign a book will scan something already in front of them, and you will see the difference in the count.

You see everything before anyone else does

Submissions go to you first. Nothing appears on the published wall until you approve it, so a wall shared with family after the wedding contains only what you chose to keep. Moderation is on by default.

Afterwards the wall becomes a link you can send to everyone who came — and to the people who could not. It stays live for two years and is renewable after that.

Questions

Do guests need to download anything?

No. The code opens in whatever browser is already on their phone. There is nothing to install and no account to create, which is the only reason older guests actually use it.

What if someone uploads something we don't want?

You approve every submission before it appears on the published wall. Moderation is on by default, and you can remove anything later.

Can we show the submissions during the reception?

Yes. The wall has a fullscreen slideshow mode built for a TV or projector, and it updates as new submissions are approved.

How long do we keep it?

The album is included for two years from activation and renewable after that. We email you before it expires so you can renew or download everything in it.
